We’re looking for a Logistics Operations Specialist to raise the bar within our Data Center logistics team.
You’ll own the daily flow of materials, equipment and inventory, troubleshoot issues on the ground, and ensure our operations meets our customer needs.
You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

Key job responsibilities
As a Logistics Operations Specialist, you will oversee and support the end-to-end flow of materials, parts, and equipment within our logistics network.
You will manage daily inbound and outbound activities, monitor inventory accuracy, and coordinate with warehouse, transportation, and procurement teams to ensure service level commitments are met.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for logistics operations across multiple sites, coordinating and overseeing activities related to scheduling and supporting shipments between locations.
This includes managing cross-site shipment planning, tracking and issue resolution, as well as supervising on-site activities such as receiving, unpacking, and verifying contents.
You will also ensure that all workspaces across sites are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and safety.
You will play an active role in continuous improvement initiatives by diving deep and pinpointing bottlenecks through root cause analysis, recommending targeted process changes, and supporting the rollout of new workflows.
Leveraging your operational expertise and analytical skills, you will help drive measurable efficiency gains, reduce waste and enhance performance across the logistics function.
This position involves occasional trips across the cluster to support other sites and lifting materials up to 18kg (with support from teammates available).

A day in the life
We provide items to our customers, safely, accurately and in a timely manner.
You will work in a diverse and international environment.
* 9:00-18:00 work on business days.
* Work will be conducted onsite in an office/storage room area with the occasional need to work outside for shipment support.
* Sometimes work in a 75db noise level environment (comparable to industrial grade fan).
* Involves occasional trips across the cluster to support other sites and frequent lifting of materials up to 18kg (with support from teammates available).
* On-call duties required after normal working hours, rotating by team members.
* Occasional outdoor work for shipment receiving and loading dock activities, exposed to varying weather conditions.
* Ability to wear required PPE including safety shoes, as needed.

- 2+ years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations
- Proficiency in standard office software (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Proficient in Japanese and conversational English
- Experience using lean process improvement, six sigma methodologies, or related performance metrics/process improvements to increase efficiency within processes, forecasting, planning, optimization, or logistics

- Experience in creating SOPs and training materials, and in mentoring and developing others
- Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing own tasks and those of other team members for multiple projects.
