仕事内容
As a Senior Data Center Operations Engineer, we are responsible for managing the facilities in Japan, ensuring the overall health and smooth functioning of critical infrastructure in our data centers. Our daily tasks include overseeing operations, managing capacity deployment, space utilization, budgeting, procuring materials, and maintaining facility stock. We schedule maintenance and ensure operational uptime, manage vendor relations, and engage in both local builds and deployments as well as strategic global projects.
Our role involves cross-organizational collaboration and requires us to develop, document, and promote a catalogue of standards and best practices for data center operations. We must be available for 24/7 support, willing to work during off-hours, handle troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events, and perform hardware break-fix duties. Conducting root cause analysis, adhering to safety procedures, and complying with physical security protocols are essential tasks. Regular audits and management of vendors within the data center environment are also key components of our responsibilities.
We require a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related IT field, with relevant certifications and professional experience of over three years in data center operations. Hands-on installation of IT equipment, management of network appliances, and strong analytical skills are essential. We also need to be process-oriented, capable of multitasking, and open to both domestic and international travel. Our role demands independent functioning in ambiguous situations, excellent communication, and strong interpersonal skills. Prior experience in building new data center sites and an understanding of data center facilities and infrastructure, including networking and server architecture, is advantageous.

Responsible for the installation of pre-integrated racks, individual servers and network appliances including stacking, wiring and cable management. Working knowledge of networking/server architecture and hardware. Strong focus on process orientation and experience in developing processes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to multi-task several issues. Open to travel domestically and internationally. Proven ability to function independently in ambiguous situations with a record of success. Excellent communication, customer focus, problem-solving, conflict management, time management and interpersonal skills required. Dedicated to ongoing professional development, skill enhancement, and fulfilling all necessary on-the-job training requirements. - **望ましい経験**: Experience in building new data center sites Taking ownership of all the ongoing responsibilities in the Data Centre. Excellent General documentation skills with particular emphasis on technical processes and standards. Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams in highly technical, multi-disciplined projects. Technical understanding of data centre facilities and infrastructure including power, HVAC, structured cabling, rack management and security is a plus Knowledge and experience in ITIL process methodologies, CCNA, CompTIA Hardware is a plus.
