■Position Overview:

This role involves managing automotive project operations (PMO), focusing on regulatory compliance for emerging areas such as Cyber Security and Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. The position requires coordinating project activities, collaborating with Tier-1 suppliers, ensuring regulatory adherence, and supporting compliance audits and vehicle type approvals.

■About the Department:

Our department is responsible for managing multiple new vehicle projects to ensure regulatory compliance in areas such as Cyber Security and Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. We oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of vehicle projects while ensuring alignment with global and regional regulations. The project management team plays a pivotal role in vehicle project planning, coordination, process optimization, and regulatory compliance.

■Responsibilities:

- Develop comprehensive project implementation plans outlining objectives, timelines, resources, risks, and budget criteria. Suggest alternatives when issues arise in the original plan.

- Collaborate closely with internal teams, customers, and Tier-1 suppliers to manage overall vehicle program management and drive major software releases to completion.

- Define roles, responsibilities, and job scope within the project.

- Oversee daily operational aspects of project management and execution.

- Establish and apply best practices, ensure knowledge transfer among team members, and handle work packages. Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and align with project goals and stakeholder expectations.

- Provide regular project updates and report issues during execution through meetings and written status reports.

- Offer on-the-job training to project members and assist the team in resolving issues.

- Develop an integrated master project schedule in collaboration with customers and partners, track progress, and ensure successful completion of all milestones and deliverables.

- Allocate tasks to team members based on their skills and availability, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities.

- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, addressing concerns, and managing expectations. Keep accurate project documentation, including plans, reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant materials.

■Minimum qualifications:

- Proven experience in project management, including project planning, execution, quality assurance, schedule and risk management, coordination, and communication.

- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including end-to-end test planning, execution procedures, software release and version management, and deployment processes.

- Solid understanding of engineering best practices and the ability to establish new ones where necessary.

- Experience in preparing detailed reports and explaining technical challenges to customers and Tier-1 suppliers.

- Proficiency in task management, schedule management, and daily operations oversight.

- Experience in creating customer presentations, project status reports, and planning documents.

- General knowledge of the automotive industry, vehicle domains, and relevant technologies.

Languages:

・Japanese: Fluent

・English: Business

■ Nice to have skills

- Knowledge of Vehicle Cyber Security, OTA Software updates, Connected Car Services, Infotainment, Telematics, Cloud, and Vehicle Data, along with relevant project management experience.

- Familiarity with automotive regulations and standards such as WP.29 UNR155 (Cyber Security Management Systems), UNR156 (Software Update Management Systems), ISO21434, and ISO24089.

- Basic knowledge of Cyber Security, including encryption algorithms and vulnerability management.

- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working hours classification: Deemed working hours system

Category of deemed working hours system: Discretionary labor system for professional work

Deemed working hours per day: 8hrs

■Salary

Annual salary: *will be decided in consideration of candidates’ experiences and abilities.

Discretionary labor allowance: 60,000 JPY - 80,000 JPY

Overtime work allowance: By ordinary (Paid according to overtime working hours)

■Working hours

9:00 - 18:00

(Actual working hrs: 8hrs /Flex time system/ Core time: 10:00 - 16:00)
