■Position Overview:

We are looking for an Automotive OTA Engineer to contribute to the development, validation, and coordination of over-the-air (OTA) software updates for connected vehicles. This role involves working with component designers, Tier-1 suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless software release and compliance with regulatory standards. The position provides a dynamic learning experience in emerging automotive technologies, including cloud integration, software management, and next-generation vehicle solutions.

■About the Department:

The department focuses on enabling over-the-air (OTA) software updates for connected vehicles. Key activities include creating specifications, validating solutions, and coordinating with component designers and Tier-1 suppliers to ensure successful software releases.

■Responsibilities:

- Manage requirement analysis and discussions with customers regarding OTA functionality to ensure alignment.

- Develop requirement documents, including use cases, business rules, functional & non-functional specifications, for development teams.

- Collaborate with component design teams and Tier-1 suppliers to ensure correct implementation of requirements.

- Work on product and supplier management, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

- Manage cloud-based and vehicle component-level requirements, including specification breakdown and test case definitions.

- Perform HMI validation to confirm OTA functionality.

■Expected Learning Experience:

Applicants will gain insights into Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) and Connected Mobility, understanding how OTA software updates enable hyper-personalization features for vehicle owners. The role involves exposure to cloud technologies, secured communication protocols, regulatory standards, and other technical aspects of OTA implementation. Candidates will develop a comprehensive understanding of OTA functions, user-personalized feature updates, and their role in the future of automotive technology.

■Minimum qualifications:

- Knowledge of OTA concepts in the automotive, smartphone, or a related industry.

- Experience in requirement specification creation.

- Understanding of software architecture, design principles, and project lifecycle.

- Familiarity with vehicle software development and deployment.

- Experience in coordinating with component designers and suppliers.

- Hands-on experience with testing tools for HMI validation in OTA applications.

Languages:

・Japanese: Fluent level (spoken and written)

・English: conversational level

■ Nice to have skills

- Knowledge of CANoe, CAN, CAN FD, SOME/IP, DOIP.

- Familiarity with automotive electronic systems and vehicle architectures.

- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and testing procedures.

- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working hours classification: Deemed working hours system

Category of deemed working hours system: Discretionary labor system for professional work

Deemed working hours per day: 8hrs

■Salary

Annual salary: *will be decided in consideration of candidates’ experiences and abilities.

Discretionary labor allowance: 60,000 JPY - 80,000 JPY

Overtime work allowance: By ordinary (Paid according to overtime working hours)

■Working hours

9:00 - 18:00

(Actual working hrs: 8hrs /Flex time system/ Core time: 10:00 - 16:00)
