■Position Overview

The Automotive Cyber Security Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the security and compliance of modern connected vehicles. As the automotive industry moves towards Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs) and connected mobility, robust cybersecurity measures are essential. This role involves developing and implementing security strategies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations (UNECE WP.29 - UNR155, ISO 21434), conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with component designers and Tier-1 suppliers to safeguard vehicles from cyber threats.

The Cyber Security Department is focused on providing security solutions to protect vehicles from cyber threats. The team ensures compliance with industry regulations, formulates security strategies and policies, manages security operations, conducts security audits, and collaborates with component designers and suppliers.

■About the Project

With the increasing number of cyber threats targeting connected vehicles, ensuring vehicle safety, data privacy, and system integrity is paramount. The project focuses on developing security solutions, defining security requirements, conducting vulnerability assessments and risk analyses (TARA), specifying security mechanisms such as intrusion detection techniques, cryptography, and authentication, and ensuring compliance with security regulations.

■Team Structure

The team consists of 25 employees working across Japan and India. It is a cross-functional team with expertise in cybersecurity technologies and regulatory compliance, including members from multiple nationalities collaborating on security solutions.

■Responsibilities

- Manage and define vehicle, system, and component-level security requirements

- Develop, validate, and deploy automotive cybersecurity solutions

- Formulate security strategies and implement security solutions for both cloud and in-vehicle systems using cryptographic techniques

- Monitor vulnerabilities reported in global databases and Auto-ISAC consortiums, assess risks, and manage vulnerabilities

- Perform risk assessments (TARA), vulnerability analysis, and attack scenario definition for vehicle system components

- Develop and execute security function tests, penetration tests, and security validation processes

- Facilitate cross-functional reviews and discussions to resolve technical security issues

- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and standards (UNECE WP.29, ISO 21434) as per project and customer requirements

- Deliver high-quality outputs within defined cost and time constraints

This position provides a deep understanding of the role of Cyber Security in vehicle and passenger safety, as well as compliance with global regulations and standards. ■Must Requirements

- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity concepts

- Experience in security assessment, including Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA), threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis

- Hands-on experience in developing and deploying security solutions for embedded systems

- Solid understanding of cryptography, including encryption and authentication mechanisms, and experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSM)

- Experience coordinating with suppliers and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity regulations such as UNR155

- Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environments, certificate management, and key assignment

- Experience designing security architecture for vehicle components and embedded systems

- Practical expertise in security function testing, fuzz testing, and penetration testing

- Familiarity with standard security technologies, including firewalls, Ethernet security, virtualization, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS)

Language:

- English: Business level or above

- Japanese language skills

- Knowledge of automotive electronic systems and vehicle architectures

- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and security testing procedures

- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

■Salary

Annual salary: *will be decided in consideration of candidates’ experiences and abilities.

Discretionary labor allowance: 60,000 JPY - 80,000 JPY
