About the project:

Multi-program engagement with leading Global Tier1 for end-to-end AD-ADAS System Development.

A multidisciplinary project team to work closely with Tiier1 for Project Management, System Architecture Design, Software Development (Base Software, Middleware & Application Software), AI Integration, System Integration,System Validation,Safety,Security & Process Compliance.

With a strong focus on quality, scalability, and governance, the engagement accelerates development cycles and supports the delivery of safe, intelligent and production & ready ADAS solutions.

About the position:

'- Own a critical sub-stream (HW/Mechatronics) inside multi-program ADAS deliveries for a Global Tier‑1 customer

- Broad exposure to sensor/ECU HW lifecycle: design changes, DV/PV, integration, launch readiness and supplier/OEM governance

- High-visibility customer interface role with opportunities to grow into hardware program leadership

- Work in a bilingual Japan environment while leveraging global engineering teams

Job responsibilities:

ADAS Hardware / Mechatronics Sub Project Manager

Lead the HW/Mechatronics sub‑project for ADAS sensors/ECUs through design changes, DV/PV, integration, and release readiness.

Plan and track HW stream milestones/deliverables; manage dependencies, risks, and action items to meet customer program timing.

Coordinate requirements clarification and engineering change management (ECR/ECN); perform impact analysis and align stakeholders.

Drive DV/PV planning and execution with global HW and test teams; ensure timely closure of issues and readiness evidence.

Own robustness and quality artifacts and reviews (DRBFM, DFMEA/PFMEA, DVP&R/DVPR/DVP); ensure customer submissions and approvals.

Act as customer interface for HW topics (Japanese/English); coordinate with suppliers and internal teams for technical escalations.

Support prototype builds, vehicle events, line trials, and launch / early production support; manage urgent field/quality topics as needed.

Coordinate cross-functional HW‑SW‑mechanical integration topics, configuration/version control, and documentation updates.

Provide regular status reporting (progress/risks/issues) and contribute to structured problem solving and closure (e.g., 8D).

【Required skills】

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related.

8+ years of experience in automotive HW/mechatronics engineering with strong exposure to DV/PV and change management.

Working knowledge of robustness/quality methods (DRBFM, FMEA, DVP&R/DVPR) and milestone-driven OEM/Tier‑1 development.

Customer-facing communication skills to manage stakeholders and suppliers in Japan (Japanese/English) in an on-site environment.

English for communication with offshore team and Japanese for communication with customers.
