仕事内容

As the Senior Engineering Manager for the Containers at the Edge team, we are responsible for guiding the architecture, deployment, and management of our distributed container infrastructure to support customer workloads. Our goal is to maintain low latency, high availability, and secure application delivery across a globally dispersed network of resource-limited nodes. We aim to cultivate a culture emphasizing technical rigor, operational excellence, and innovation that transcends individual teams to drive advancements across the organization. The role entails defining a long-term strategic vision and a multi-year technical roadmap that aligns with Fastly’s business goals. We will focus on building a high-performing team composed of software engineers, principal-level contributors, and SREs, emphasizing structuring, talent development, and scaling capabilities to meet future demands.

In this role, we must effectively communicate the strategy, progress, and risk across executive leadership and technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional partners using a product-owner mindset to clarify roadmaps and priorities. Leveraging deep technical expertise is crucial, as is making development contributions to drive strategic improvements. Key qualifications include over four years' experience in managing Software Engineering or SRE teams, along with 10+ years of experience in distributed systems or cloud infrastructure like container networking. Extensive hands-on software development experience with Go, Rust, or C/C++ and building large-scale production infrastructure in dynamic networking environments are required, along with a strong understanding of Linux system internals and performance optimization.

給与- Salary: $228,280 to $273,936
- Note: This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.

This position will require you to be available during core business hours and occasional nights and weekends as necessary to support any on-call coverage.

その他- **応募要件**: 4+ years of experience managing Software Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering teams.

10+ years of related technical experience with distributed systems, CDN, or cloud infrastructure such as container networking, platform ownership, virtualization technology.

Extensive hands-on experience in software development using Go, Rust, or C/C++.

Demonstrated ability to drive a durable technical roadmap and facilitate effective collaboration in cross-functional teams.

Experience building and automating large scale production infrastructure in on-prem environments within a complex and dynamic networking environment.

Extensive hands on experience working in a Linux environment with a solid understanding of system internals and performance optimization.
