仕事内容

As part of the Amazon JP Pricing & Promotions team, our Software Development Engineers play a crucial role in building and enhancing systems that drive promotional activities, ultimately improving the shopping and selling experiences for Japanese customers. We focus on transforming fragmented promotion tools into a unified, intelligent, and automated platform. Our engineers work across four main areas: Selling Partner Tooling, which involves developing tools that selling partners use to plan and assess their promotional campaigns; Incentives Sourcing, which unifies various customer loyalty and points-based incentives; Pricing, which involves creating Japan-specific pricing logic; and Intelligence, a shared layer that transforms data into actionable recommendations and automation.

In this role, you will contribute to customer-facing features for Amazon's mobile app, working on discovery surfaces, personal library, search, browse, and the reading experience. You will write clean, well-tested code and engage with AI-powered development tools to enhance productivity across tasks like code generation, testing, debugging, and documentation. Collaboration across diverse, geographically spread teams is essential, as is participating in design discussions, conducting code reviews, and producing technical documentation.

As part of your daily activities, you will tackle technical challenges alongside seasoned engineers, helping design and develop scalable, reliable distributed services. You'll translate business requirements into functional software, construct prototypes, and work collaboratively with backend services. Operational excellence is a key responsibility, encompassing bug fixes, maintaining observability, ensuring the health of CI/CD pipelines, and on-call duties.

- Completed Bachelor's or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or related STEM fields
- Graduated within the last 24 months
- Demonstrated experience with at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript
- Demonstrated experience in Data structures implementation or Basic algorithm development or Object-oriented design principles
- Has 1 - 2 years Full Time working experience

- Previous technical internship(s) or demonstrated project experience
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- AI tools for development productivity
- Cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
- Database systems (SQL and NoSQL)
- Contributing to open-source projects
- Version control systems

- Native mobile development
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
