仕事内容
As a Business Intelligence Engineer in the Amazon Search Capacity team, we focus on scaling the Amazon Search service by collaborating closely with engineering and operations service owners. Our primary aim is to deeply understand the service to drive optimal scaling and capacity planning. We are responsible for identifying and monitoring key performance metrics related to efficiency and cost, managing planning, ordering, and budgeting for hardware and computational resources, and developing tools to automate these tasks wherever feasible.
In our role, we analyze resource utilization and performance test data to identify variables that impact performance and scalability. We develop models predicting the hardware resources required to meet current and future Service Level Agreements (SLAs). We have the opportunity to leverage the latest AI and Generative AI tools, which accelerate decision-making processes and help us concentrate on the most impactful work.
Our knowledge in this space is constantly growing, as continuous learning is ingrained in Amazon's culture. While a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as BI, finance, engineering, or computer science is required, the position also values experience in statistical analysis, data visualization using tools like Tableau or Quicksight, and SQL proficiency. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, experience with AWS solutions, Python scripting, data modeling, and the development and presentation of new metrics for performance insights.
