仕事内容
As an SDE on the Product Family Support Tech (PFST) team within Japan Store Tech, we focus on designing, building, and operating customer-facing as well as internal services that enhance Amazon Japan's retail product experiences. Our role involves engaging directly with product teams and contributing to architectural decisions to address complex, Japan-specific challenges leveraging Amazon's global infrastructure. We embrace a full-stack development approach, entailing the construction of backend services, enhancement of frontend experiences, and integration within Amazon's extensive systems ecosystem.
Our primary job responsibilities include independently designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining distributed software solutions. These solutions span across various technical domains, including web applications, backend services, cloud architecture, and machine learning. We collaborate with technical and business teams both locally and globally to comprehend business challenges and devise effective solutions.
On a daily basis, tasks involve participating in daily standups to provide status updates, working on technical design documents to drive consensus among our team and stakeholders, engaging in uninterrupted software development, and gaining knowledge on new cloud technologies. Our role demands proficiency in using at least one general-purpose programming language such as Java, Python, or C++, and a good understanding of data structures, algorithms, or object-oriented design principles. We are expected to operate independently, take ownership of initiatives, and enhance standards through code and design reviews.
