仕事内容
As a Portfolio Manager within our PPO team, we are tasked with proactively managing a subset of projects from the Book of Work, combining both traditional waterfall methodologies and SAFe Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) practices. Our main responsibilities include aligning portfolio initiatives with business strategy and ensuring optimal resource allocation and value delivery. We facilitate portfolio-level planning, budgeting, and forecasting, including Quarterly Increment Planning, and oversee monitoring and reporting on portfolio performance using OKRs and metrics to drive continuous improvement.
We own one of four total portfolios comprising over 50 million USD in yearly spend, supporting business case development for initiatives within this portfolio to ensure alignment with strategic objectives. We conduct monthly update meetings with business and technology teams to maintain full transparency and coordination among stakeholders. Our role involves developing PowerBI-enabled portfolio level reporting and managing the quarterly portfolio planning sessions to address both current quarter results and plan for the next quarter.
To mature the portfolio function, we collaborate with other portfolio managers and the PMO team, shifting from reactive reporting to a proactive change mindset. This involves developing new tools, reports, and processes, and engaging business executives more actively in the portfolio's management. We also liaise with governance, strategy, and regional teams to ensure alignment while suggesting process improvements as needed.
Furthermore, we lead the yearly project planning process (BoW), establishing both short and long-range business roadmaps and monitoring the progress and potential impacts of ongoing and pipeline projects. As champions of the CDF (lean-agile and SAFe LPM) transformation, we implement CDF techniques within the portfolio management function and coach stakeholders, including senior management, on improving portfolio delivery.
Our role demands exceptional communication skills, as we build trust-based relationships with various stakeholders and adapt to the evolving portfolio function, driving growth and managing priorities with minimal supervision.
