仕事内容
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Director of Medicinal Chemistry to join our leadership team and significantly impact the direction of our company. The role involves providing strategic guidance and oversight to our medicinal chemistry efforts, ensuring alignment with our company's objectives. The candidate will drive our drug discovery initiatives, influencing strategic decisions and advancing our scientific and commercial goals. Responsibilities include overseeing external programs at CROs, managing the design, execution, and progression of medicinal chemistry projects conducted exclusively at these organizations.
Additionally, the role involves creating business development opportunities that meet the organization's strategic scientific, therapeutic, and commercial needs. Providing strategic leadership to the medicinal chemistry department is key, aligning it with the company's goals and objectives. The individual will also oversee the execution and management of projects at CROs, ensuring consistent high-quality outcomes. Mentorship of internal chemists is part of the role, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, such as biology, pharmacology, and clinical development, is essential to advance drug candidates from discovery through development.
This role demands driving innovation in medicinal chemistry through new technologies, methodologies, and best practices. Ensuring regulatory compliance and building relationships with external partners, like academic institutions and industry collaborators, are also important. A PhD in Chemistry or related discipline and 15+ years of experience, along with a proven track record in drug discovery programs, leadership skills, deep technical expertise, and strong communication and problem-solving abilities are expected. Experience in a leadership role within large pharma, publication records, and patent filing experience are highly desirable.

Proven track record of leading successful drug discovery programs, preferably in large pharma. Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of medicinal chemistry principles, drug design, and optimization processes. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to a broad audience. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and innovative approach to challenges. Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. - **望ましい経験**: Experience in a leadership role within a large pharmaceutical or biotechnology company is highly desirable. A proven track record of leading projects that are completely outsourced. Publications: A strong publication record in medicinal chemistry or related fields. Patents: Experience with patent filings and intellectual property management. Networking: Established network within the scientific and pharmaceutical community. |
