The AWS Early Career Talent (ECT) Program is dedicated to attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional early-career professionals who will become the future technical leaders of AWS. We design and operate end-to-end programs — from campus internships through hiring, residency, and field progression — ensuring every early-career hire has the structure, mentorship, and opportunities to thrive.

Key job responsibilities
We are looking for a Program Manager who loves building scalable mechanisms and is energized by developing people at the start of their careers. In this role, you'll own and drive the full lifecycle of our Early Career programs, including:
- Internship Program: Design, launch, and continuously improve internship experiences that give students meaningful exposure to AWS and convert top performers into full-time hires.
- Hiring Program: Partner with Recruiting, hiring managers, and Bar Raisers to build efficient, equitable new-graduate hiring pipelines that meet headcount goals while raising the talent bar.
- Residency Program: Own the post-hire enablement curriculum (e.g., TechU, bootcamps, shadowing rotations) that accelerates new hires from classroom to customer-ready.
- Field Progression Mechanism: Define and operate clear leveling criteria, milestone checkpoints, and promotion pathways so early-career talent can grow into independent, field-ready contributors.
- Process & Mechanism Development: Identify gaps, create scalable mechanisms (dashboards, playbooks, feedback loops), and drive continuous improvement across all ECT-related workflows.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with Solutions Architecture leadership, HR, FTO (Field Tech Ops), WFP (workforce planning), Recruiting, APJ Solutions Architect organizations (APJ CSC, APJ SUP, APJ PACE, Area Tech), and regional stakeholders to ensure program coherence and business alignment.

- 2+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience owning and delivering end-to-end program outcomes across multiple workstreams with competing priorities
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Fluent in both Japanese and English (business level or above; reading, writing, and speaking in both languages)

- Experience designing or operating early career, graduate, internship, or talent development programs
- Familiarity with the AWS or broader cloud/technology ecosystem
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders (Recruiting, HR, Engineering, Sales) in a matrixed organization
- Experience building scalable mechanisms, playbooks, or standard operating procedures that reduce operational toil
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, JIRA) and collaboration platforms
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification is a plus
