仕事内容
We are looking to build a new engineering squad in Brazil to drive the development of intelligent, agent-driven procurement solutions as part of SAP Finance & Spend. Our team focuses on creating software that enhances buying processes by integrating AI-driven agents that can manage tasks such as generating requisitions, searching catalogs, and assisting buyers efficiently and naturally, similar to a human colleague. These software agents are underpinned by robust Buying capabilities, which we own and develop, including shared services for policy enforcement, request routing, procurement flow orchestration, and governed human handoff.
As a Senior Application Engineer for our Brazil buying squad, you will play a key role in defining and refining the architecture and technical direction of these intelligent agents. Your responsibilities include establishing agent patterns that allow for effective planning, tool usage, failure recovery, and human handoff, and setting foundational shared services such as policy grounding and request orchestration. You will also align cross-team architectures, influence engineering standards, and highlight systemic risks.
A crucial part of the role involves setting the AI engineering strategy, which includes guardrails, safety measures, and evaluation methods—such as regression harnesses and golden-set evaluations to ensure AI agents' reliability. You will handle integration architecture, designing the APIs and event contracts necessary for coherent service operation as the domain grows.
Beyond technical leadership, you will mentor and grow senior engineers, shape technical onboarding and development through curricula, and lead by example by remaining a hands-on builder to validate architectural designs practically. This role offers the opportunity to engage meaningfully with cross-functional teams across Brazil, Germany, and India in a dynamic, AI-first engineering culture.
