仕事内容
As the Senior Engineering Manager of the Platform Security team at Fastly, our role is vital in shaping the technical leadership across multiple engineering projects that underpin foundational infrastructure services. We are responsible for developing a long-term strategic vision and multi-year technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with Fastly’s business and security objectives. Our team is tasked with reinforcing a culture of technical rigor, operational excellence, and innovation, extending beyond single-team boundaries to drive cross-organizational advancements. Rather than merely maintaining operations, our focus lies in pursuing innovation, developing future-ready foundational infrastructure, and influencing the evolution of secure orchestration and trust services, both at Fastly and globally.
In our role, we manage and develop a high-performing team comprising engineers and principal individual contributors, concentrating on organizational structuring, talent development, and scaling capabilities to meet future needs. We work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, adopting a product-owner approach to establish clear roadmaps and priorities. We advocate for the organization-wide adoption of best practices for operational excellence, reliability, and security, establishing metrics and accountability across all platform services.
Even though writing code is not expected, leveraging deep technical experience is crucial for success in this role. Our duties also involve communicating the function’s strategy, progress, and risk profile to executive leadership and other technical stakeholders within the company, ensuring the Platform Security domain is aligned with Fastly’s overall objectives.

| その他 | - 応募要件: 4+ years of experience managing Platform or Site Reliability Engineering teams. 10+ years of related technical experience with distributed systems and infrastructure as code. Demonstrated ability to drive a durable technical roadmap and facilitate effective collaboration in cross-functional teams. Experience with secrets and workload identity management, including using tools like SPIFFE, SPIRE, HashiCorp Vault, etc. Experience building and automating large scale production infrastructure in public cloud and on-prem environments. Using TFE or similar technologies. Extensive hands on experience working in a Linux environment with a solid understanding of system internals and performance optimization. - 望ましい経験: Experience with Kubernetes, PKI, and configuration management tools like Chef. Proficiency in Python or Go. Migrating physical or cloud-based workloads to new hosting platforms. Experience collaborating with compliance/security teams. |
