You will join a global team of customer-facing materials science experts that drives customer success with atomistic modelling and industry-relevant applications.What you’ll doProvide high-quality scientific and technical support to customers usingQuantumATKPartner withinternal stakeholders andcustomersin high-tech industries (semiconductors, automotive, energy, etc.)to understand use cases, troubleshoot issues, and drive successful outcomesDevelop and maintain application examples, workflows, and best-practice guidesCollaborate with R&D and product teams by bringing customer needs and feedback into roadmap and feature discussionsContribute to enablement activities such as webinarsand trainingWhat you bring (required)Solid foundation in solid-state physics and/or chemistry:A degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related fieldStrong background in atomic-scale materials modelling and simulationPractical Python skills for scripting, analysis, and workflow automationProficiency communicating complex technical topics in English (written and verbal)Nice to haveExperience working directly with industrial customers in a technical role (support, field, pre-sales, or similar)Track record of building reusable examples, tutorials, or scientific software workflowsHow you workYou take ownership, follow through, and ask for help early when blockedYou’re comfortable switching between deep technical work and customer-facing communicationYou bring a constructive, curious mindset in ambiguous problem spacesWhat Synopsys offersA key role in cutting-edge technology development with a competent, motivated teamA dynamic environment with opportunities to grow across customer engagement, technical depth, and product impactCompetitive compensation and benefits (per local practices)The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:You will join a dynamic Application Engineering team focused on enabling customer success and advancing Synopsys’ technology leadership in Japan.
