仕事内容
At Manulife Investment Management, Japan, we are seeking Credit Analysts who will primarily focus on conducting credit analysis of mainly Japanese companies, providing investment recommendations, and actively developing platforms to generate diverse investment ideas. The core responsibilities include performing fundamental credit analysis by drafting fully ESG-integrated Credit Reports on Japanese corporate bond issuers using an Internal Rating model combined with qualitative and quantitative analysis. Some reports will be required in English. Additionally, analysts will conduct semi-macro research and industry analysis to enhance individual credit assessments.
In terms of structure analysis, you will be examining covenants, subordination, and other relevant factors. Your role involves performing spread valuation through relative value analysis grounded in fundamental credit analysis and leveraging financial market information such as credit spreads. Providing timely investment recommendations to our Portfolio Managers is a critical aspect of your duties. Analysts will also engage with external resources by attending bond issuers’ IR meetings and maintaining communication with rating agencies and external equity/credit analysts.
Furthermore, active stewardship activities, such as engaging in ESG initiatives, are expected. The position involves the production of daily, weekly, and monthly reports for internal meetings utilizing Bloomberg and Nikkei Quick, along with creating other explanatory materials for external meetings, with some requiring English proficiency. You will report directly to the Head of Credit Research in Japan.
Candidates should have at least five years of experience in credit or equity analysis within financial institutions or rating agencies, preferably having worked in active fixed income management. Strong candidates will hold a CFA, CMA, or MBA and possess native-level Japanese proficiency and fluent English skills. We value individuals who are objective-oriented, self-starters, communicative, and innovative, constantly seeking more efficient methodologies.
