仕事内容
As Credit Analysts at Manulife Investment Management in Japan, we are charged with conducting thorough credit analysis primarily on Japanese corporate bond issuers. Our key responsibilities include crafting comprehensive ESG-integrated credit reports using both qualitative and quantitative analysis aligned with our Internal Rating model. We also perform industry and semi-macro research to bolster individual credit assessments, and structure analysis concerning covenants and subordination.
One of our critical tasks involves executing relative value analysis based on credit spread data to provide timely investment recommendations to Portfolio Managers. Engaging with external resources is essential, as it involves participation in bond issuers' IR meetings and maintaining relationships with rating agencies and sell-side analysts.
Our role encompasses active engagement in stewardship activities, especially those promoting ESG considerations. We are responsible for producing daily, weekly, and monthly reports using Bloomberg and Nikkei Quick for internal meetings, as well as preparing necessary explanatory materials for external meetings, some of which are required in English.
Our reporting line is directly to the Head of Credit Research in Japan. Applicants must have at least five years of credit/equity analysis experience, with experience at an active fixed income manager being preferable. Holding certifications such as CFA, CMA, or MBA is advantageous. Proficiency in native Japanese and fluent English is mandatory. Key skills include being objective-oriented, a self-starter, an effective communicator, and an innovator, all geared towards enhancing the performance of bond portfolios through strategic credit investment recommendations.
