仕事内容
The role of the Senior Medical Director, Japan Clinical Sciences Head involves leading and managing the Japan Clinical Sciences team, which includes medical directors and clinical scientists, to ensure effective delivery of clinical development activities in Japan and the region. Based in Osaka, this position requires integration of Japan's clinical requirements into global development plans and effective coordination with Global Product Teams as well as Japan cross-functional partners. Responsibilities include providing leadership, coaching, and performance support to the team, overseeing study activities to ensure quality and timely execution, and addressing clinical development risks through established governance pathways. The role also involves collaborating with Global Program Leaders and colleagues across various functions such as Regulatory, Clinical Pharmacology, and Safety.
In addition, the Senior Medical Director is expected to engage scientifically with Japanese thought leaders and other external stakeholders. Building team capabilities, prioritizing tasks, and fostering collaborative work across functions are essential, alongside maintaining accountability for program execution and communicating progress and risks to leadership. The position requires a medical or advanced scientific degree with substantial clinical development experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, particularly in oncology. Key skills include strategic clinical input, risk assessment, stakeholder management, and fluency in Japanese and English. Preferred qualifications include experience with oncology development programs in Japan and familiarity with the Japanese regulatory environment.

Substantial clinical development experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including meaningful experience in oncology. Demonstrated experience leading and developing medical directors, clinical scientists, or comparable clinical development professionals.
