仕事内容
As a Data Center Construction Manager (CM) for Amazon, we are responsible for the seamless delivery of hyperscale data center projects from initial feasibility to commissioning handover in the Greater Kanto region. Our role encompasses full lifecycle project management, including oversight of scope, schedule, and budget for new builds and capital upgrades. We design and build purpose-specific data centers, handling advanced infrastructure in-house, and manage the entire critical infrastructure chain, such as HV substations, generators, cooling systems, and servers.
Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day contractor performance, ensuring safety and quality standards, and coordinating change management on-site. We travel to project sites as necessary for audits, reviews, and commissioning support, managing the request for information (RFI) lifecycle and liaising with design engineers for technical resolutions. Additionally, we report project metrics and risks to senior leadership with precision.
Our responsibilities also involve optimizing project portfolios by identifying cost reductions and schedule compression opportunities. This involves developing scopes, equipment specifications, RFPs, and justifications for capital expenditures, as well as leading constructability reviews on various designs.
Moreover, we influence stakeholders by supporting and enhancing skills on-site, collaborating with procurement to increase vendor options, and initiating cross-functional projects to improve facility resilience and performance. Acting as a technical authority, we ensure effective communication across internal teams, general contractors, and design consultants.
We require a bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and significant experience in construction or project management, with strong fluency in Japanese and English to convey technical concepts effectively.
