仕事内容

We are seeking a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our Technical Operations team, focusing on building and maintaining Fastly's extensive global network infrastructure. Our responsibilities include managing a vast network that spans six continents with numerous points of presence, ensuring reliable and efficient delivery of content to global internet users.

Your role will involve building, operating, and maintaining our expanding Edge Cloud Platform network. You will respond to traffic incidents, lead network issue resolutions, and leverage your expertise in IP routing, specifically BGP, to resolve complex scenarios. Additionally, you will write code that is effective, maintainable, and clear, participating in code reviews to enhance our codebase and operational processes.

You will collaborate in the development and improvement of tools and automation systems that optimize our network operations. Innovating new monitoring methods focused on user experience and proactively addressing potential issues forms a key part of your responsibilities. You'll conduct in-depth performance analytics and work closely with partner teams to ensure our network operates at peak performance.

Additionally, you will advocate for network operational stability by identifying improvements and collaborating with engineering teams. Sharing knowledge on global routing complexities, particularly in anycast-heavy environments, is a vital part of your mentorship role within the team.

We require experience in internet protocols like TCP/IP, BGP, and DNS, proficiency in coding and automation with languages like Python, and familiarity with alerting, monitoring tools, cloud hosting solutions, and DevOps practices. You must be adept at Linux/Unix systems administration and network optimization. This role demands availability during core business hours, with potential for occasional night and weekend work. You will work in a hybrid model, with travel required as per role necessities.

その他- **応募要件**:
Experience in the protocols and practices that make up the fabric of the global internet, including TCP/IP, BGP, Anycast and DNS.

Experience in Automation and coding using languages like Python, or similar.

Proficiency in Tier 1 Internet service providers, Internet exchanges and cloud providers.

Ability to analyze internet traffic patterns across multiple dimensions using flow-based tools.

Experience working with alerting, monitoring and visibility tools (such as Graphite/Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk).

Knowledge across cloud hosting solutions (i.e., GCP, AWS and Azure).

Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelines (ie. Git, Jenkins, Ansible).

Understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration and network stack optimisation.

Adept at knowledge sharing and creating comprehensive documentation to empower teams.

Able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape the technical roadmap, prioritizing initiatives to optimize automation tooling and the network.

- **望ましい経験**:
Experience writing production-level code using VCL or GO.

Experience in network telemetry including instrumenting infrastructure and collecting, processing, storing and analyzing data.

Experience working with geographically dispersed teams: previous remote work preferred.
